The project began as a small tool to track daily expenses and evolved into a more complete finance product for understanding spending patterns. It includes summaries, filtering, search, secure login, database storage, and Google Sheets export to make financial data easier to manage and act on.
Challenges
The main challenge was keeping the experience simple while adding more features. It was important to make financial data easy to understand without overwhelming the user. Structuring the data and interactions in a clear way was key.
Results
The product became a practical tool for tracking and understanding personal finances. Visual charts improved spending visibility, while search and filtering made transaction data easier to access and review. The project continues to evolve with planned improvements around automation, insights, and smarter categorisation.
